Weblogs Inc. Acquired by AOL for US$ 25 Million

AOL

I regularly read Weblogs Inc.’s blogger, ranging from Engadget, a blog covering technology and gadgets, Autoblog, for car enthusiasts, Luxist for luxury lifestyles, and gaming site Joystiq. Other content ranges from travel to food, fashion, medicine and mortgages. The company said its network attracts more than 30m monthly page views.

And yesterday Weblogs Inc marked its own history. AOL, a division of Time Warner Inc., is paying $25 million in cash for Weblogs Inc. which has 100 independent, freelance bloggers who produce more than 1,000 postings weekly. Wow…

Weblogging is not just a trend and catharsis, right Roy?
